Character
Amy Juergens used to be just like any other teenager. She had two best friends (Lauren and Madison), and she played French horn in her high school marching band. She even hoped she might attend Juilliard someday. All that kind of fell apart after she slept with drummer Ricky one fateful night at band camp. After she found out she was pregnant with Ricky's baby, Amy shared the news with her BFFs, who betrayed her secret to the whole school. Ouch. On top of that, her parents are going through a tough time personally and financially, and all of that adds up to a first year in high school that isn't all she'd dreamed of. Amy's salvation seems to be in her doting boyfriend, Ben, who's willing to do just about anything for her, even marry her. But will she finally be able to stand on her own, or will Amy end up relying on Ben to solve all her problems?
