about

The O.T.W.N. Album is the fourth studio album released by American boy band O-Town, and the second to be released by the band since their reunion as a four-piece in 2011. The album was funded by fans through a Kickstarter campaign. The album was first released in 2017 as an E.P. titled Part 1 with just 5 tracks.

Regarding the song selection process for their new album, O.T.W.N, Jacob Underwood said, "The fans basically funded this record and we wanted to make them happy, first and foremost. The songs were written by us with the fans in mind. We wanted to do a party song, a message song, and 'Over,' which is a ballad reminiscent of 'All or Nothing.' We picked these songs with them in mind, thinking the fans will love them as well."

Erik-Michael Estrada noted that his favorite song on the album is "O.T.W.N," which was inspired by his family that lives on Long Island. "Unfortunately, one of my cousins passed away, and I channeled that energy into an idea, which would become the song," he said. "It's a ballad, it's heartfelt and it comes from a real place," he said.

Jacob picked "Hello World" as his favorite, while Trevor Penick listed "Off," and Dan Miller selected "Over" and "Giants." "Both of these songs almost didn't happen. I had to fight for them to push through," Miller admitted.

lyrics
Cut the Cord

When I saw the light up in the sky
Told everyone that it was a star
I convinced myself that nothing was wrong
But it's gone too far

Can't find a point in holding on
To pieces that are falling apart
If there's one thing worse than wasted time
It's a wasted heart

I don't know
I don't know what we're fighting for
And I don't wanna fight no more
And you don't wanna fight for me, for me, for me

So what took us so long
To get to right here
To get to right now
We gotta move on
It's better for everyone
So come on

So let's just cut the cord, cut the cord, cut the cord
And we don't need each other anymore, anymore
So let's just cut the cord, cut the cord, cut the cord
And we don't need each other, we don't need each other

You just suck the life right out of me
Then send me a bill for the straw
Don't you have enough, you took so much
You gotta take the loss

Let's just go our separate ways
Like opposite lights in the cross
So we don't make the same mistake
Just rip the bandaid off

I don't know
I don't know what we're fighting for
And I don't wanna fight no more
And you don't wanna fight for me

So what took us so long
To get to right here
To get to right now
We gotta move on
It's better for everyone
So come on

So let's just cut the cord, cut the cord, cut the cord
And we don't need each other anymore, anymore
So let's just cut the cord, cut the cord, cut the cord
And we don't need each other, we don't need each other

So what took us so long
To get to right here
To get to right now
We gotta move on
It's better for everyone
So come on, come on, come on
Come on, come on, come on
Come on, come on, come on
Come on, come on, come on

It took too long
We gotta move on
It took too long, yeah
We moving on, yeah
It took too long, yeah
We moving on, oh

So what took us so long
To get to right here
To get to right now
We gotta move on
It's better for everyone
So come on

So let's just cut the cord, cut the cord, cut the cord
And we don't need each other anymore, anymore
So let's just cut the cord, cut the cord, cut the cord
And we don't need each other, we don't need each other
