about

The O.T.W.N. Album is the fourth studio album released by American boy band O-Town, and the second to be released by the band since their reunion as a four-piece in 2011. The album was funded by fans through a Kickstarter campaign. The album was first released in 2017 as an E.P. titled Part 1 with just 5 tracks.

Regarding the song selection process for their new album, O.T.W.N, Jacob Underwood said, "The fans basically funded this record and we wanted to make them happy, first and foremost. The songs were written by us with the fans in mind. We wanted to do a party song, a message song, and 'Over,' which is a ballad reminiscent of 'All or Nothing.' We picked these songs with them in mind, thinking the fans will love them as well."

Erik-Michael Estrada noted that his favorite song on the album is "O.T.W.N," which was inspired by his family that lives on Long Island. "Unfortunately, one of my cousins passed away, and I channeled that energy into an idea, which would become the song," he said. "It's a ballad, it's heartfelt and it comes from a real place," he said.

Jacob picked "Hello World" as his favorite, while Trevor Penick listed "Off," and Dan Miller selected "Over" and "Giants." "Both of these songs almost didn't happen. I had to fight for them to push through," Miller admitted.

lyrics
Shady Business

Oh, your so cold
You keep running your mouth, while your running around
When you don't know what I'm all about
Oh yeah, Go 'head take your aim
I'm just back and watch the bullets fly, they just pass me by
Its all the same

You're a shadow waiting for the dark
So they won't see your face
Oh but I'm gonna turn that light shine right back to your place

It doesn't matter what you tryna do, It doesn't matter what you tryna prove
You can lie you can fight as hard as you like, we all know its shady business
I ain't tryna hear another word, tryna tell me what you think I'm worth
You can lie you can fight as hard as you like, we all know its shady
We all know its shady business

Oh, don't you get cold at night
Don't you get tired of being alone, no one picks up the phone
Cuz you know its gonna be a fight
Oooooh Yeah, never gonna change your ways
Never gonna see the pain that you caused, the love that you lost
And pray that maybe one day

You're so hollow building up those walls
You're stuck on the other side
Oh I can see right though you
And there ain't nowhere left to hide

It doesn't matter what you tryna do, It doesn't matter what you tryna prove
You can lie you can fight as hard as you like, we all know its shady business
I ain't tryna hear another word, tryna tell me what you think I'm worth
You can lie you can fight as hard as you like, we all know its shady
We all know its shady business

Oh no its shady business
Oh no its shady business
Yeah-yeah

We don't wanna *gasp* with Shady, cuz shady will *gasp* -in kill you I don't wanna deal with anybody that reminds me of you
You should be ashamed the way you play the game
Thinking fame wasn't enough for us, to think we ok
I guess this is a thank you, so thank you for doing wrong
We woulda never hit rock bottom if you never came along
If you only played this smart, instead of dumb, you coulda won
Rest in peace to shady business, adios, you're time is done

It doesn't matter what you tryna do, It doesn't matter what you tryna prove
You can lie you can fight as hard as you like, we all know

It doesn't matter what you tryna do, It doesn't matter what you tryna prove
You can lie you can fight as hard as you like, we all know its shady business
I ain't tryna hear another word, tryna tell me what you think I'm worth
You can lie you can fight as hard as you like, we all know its shady
We all know its shady business

Oh no its shady business
Oh no its shady business
Yeah-yeah
