Who are Emmett Bledsoe and Bay Kennish?

Emmett Bledsoe and Bay Kennish are characters in the TV Show, Switched At Birth. After helping Bay track down her biological dad they became very close. They have been through so much together especially the fact that Emmett is deaf and Bay can hear. Together or apart they seem to have an unspoken connection and understand each other.
