Jessica Simpson's Pre-Wedding Vegan Diet and Beauty Prep: Details
Jessica Simpson's Pre-Wedding Vegan Diet and Beauty Prep: Details

Irresistible! By all accounts, Jessica Simpson looked gorgeous at her weekend wedding to new husband Eric Johnson, and prepared for weeks to be wedding-ready.

A source tells Us Weekly exclusively that the singer-turned-designer, 33, switched up her eating habits in the days before her July 5 nuptials. "Jessica did a vegan diet for about two weeks leading up to the wedding," the source says.

Simpson's vegan kick follows other superstars who have done the same, including Beyonce, Jay Z, and Jennifer Lopez, who dropped a few pounds while on the 22-day vegan challenge.

Looking better than ever with her healthy body toned and strong, Simpson seems to have benefitted from the restrictive diet. She famously lost about 60 pounds while on Weight Watchers earlier this year, after the June 2012 birth of her son Ace.

The vegan munchies weren't the only nutrients Simpson added before she said "I do"-the source tells Us that she "also got quite a few B12 shots."

For her skin, Simpson "opted to get sugar dermabrasion on her face," the source tells Us, adding that she chose sugar over salt "so it would be less harsh."

The second-time bride was just as exacting with her style choices, picking out a custom-made Carolina Herrera gown for her wedding. She wore the speciality number for her vows to Johnson, 34, which took place at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, Calif.

The swanky affair hosted 250 guests, including some familiar faces such as Jessica Alba, Topher Grace, and Donald Faison. Simpson and Johnson are now officially husband and wife, after four years together and the births of their two children, daughter Maxwell, 2, and son Ace, 12 months.

Picture perfect!

Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson invited more than 250 guests to their lavish wedding ceremony on Saturday, but two in particular stole the show-Maxwell and Ace! A source confirms to Us Weekly that the couple's children didn't only dress for the occasion, they also took part in the ceremony.

Daughter Maxwell, 2, walked down the aisle as a flower girl, the insider reveals to Us. She was accompanied by her cousin, Ashlee Simpson's 5-year-old son Bronx. The bride and groom's 13-month-son Ace, for his part, served as ring bearer for his famous parents' special day. (The newlyweds postponed their wedding twice during Simpson's two pregnancies.)

According to a second source, many women at the bash donned floor-length dresses to the nuptials. Last month, Ashlee told Us her bridesmaid dress was "really beautiful" while attending the E3 Convention in L.A.

The 33-year-old blushing bride-who wore a custom Carolina Herrera gown-and the former NFL player, 34, were feted by boldfaced names like CaCee Cobb and husband Donald Faison, Jessica Alba and beau Cash Warren and Topher Grace as they exchanged vows. During the ceremony, they also chose to play an instrumental version of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game."

Finally, their happily ever after!

After four years (and two babies) together, Jessica Simpson married fiance Eric Johnson in Montecito, Calif. on Saturday, July 5, Us Weekly can confirm. The couple said "I do" at the lavish San Ysidro Ranch.

Simpson, 33, and the former NFL player, 34, were feted by their closest family and friends, including the singer's parents Joe and Tina Simpson, sister Ashlee Simpson and fiance Evan Ross, CaCee Cobb and husband Donald Faison, and Jessica Alba and beau Cash Warren. Ashlee and Cobb were bridesmaids for the special occasion. The couple's daughter Maxwell, 2, and son Ace, 13 months, also played special roles.

During the ceremony, an instrumental version of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" was played, according to an insider. At one point, cheers and claps erupted from the covered tent, which were decorated with stunning chandeliers.

Simpson and Johnson made it a fun-filled weekend for their guests, as they kicked back and relaxed with a good old fashioned BBQ to celebrate the Fourth of July a day earlier. Guests danced, sang karaoke, and played outdoor activities like corn hole, horseshoes and croquet. "They all seemed to be having a really good time!" an insider told Us.

As previously reported, Johnson also snuck away to play a round of golf with some of his bros at Sandpiper Golf Course in Santa Barbara on July 3. "They were a really attractive group!" an eyewitness told Us. "They played 18 holes and drank lots of Bud Lights!"

Father-of-the-bride Joe Simpson was also included in the outing. "There were definitely a lot of Southern accents. The guys were all super hot!" a second onlooker added. (The Simpson clan hails from Texas.) "They had a really good time."

Last month, the couple similarly let loose with pals at a joint, co-ed bachelor-bachelorette bash at Eveleigh restaurant in West Hollywood. "They were having a great time. Jessica looked absolutely amazing-and tiny," a source said. An onlooker noted: "Jessica looked very cute sitting next to Eric. He had his arm around her shoulders, and I saw them kiss."

Simpson and Johnson got engaged after nine months of dating in November 2010. The couple put their wedding on hold twice, but for two very good reasons. In May 2012, the pair welcomed their baby girl. Six months later, Us broke news that the mom was expecting again. Son Ace arrived that June.

This is the second marriage for both. Simpson was previously married to Nick Lachey from 2002-2006. He married TV personality Vanessa Minnillo in 2011, with whom he shares son Camden, 22 months. Johnson finalized his divorce from stylist Keri Johnson after five years of marriage in October 2010. He and Simpson met while he was separated, but still legally married.

Jessica Simpson, Fiance Eric Johnson to Marry Today: Details Leading Up to Wedding Day

The big day is finally here! Jessica Simpson and her fiance Eric Johnson are hours away from tying the knot at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, Calif.

Dating since 2010, the soon-to-be bride and groom will be joined by their closest family and friends, including Simpson's parents Tina and Joe Simpson, sister Ashlee Simpson and her fiance Evan Ross, and best friend CaCee Cobb and husband Donald Faison. The couple's daughter Maxwell, 2, and son Ace, 13 months, will also play a role in their parent's ceremony. (Ross' mother, Diana Ross, did not make the final cut.)

Simpson, 33, and the former NFL player, 34, have long been indecisive on their wedding location since getting engaged in November 2010. The Weight Watchers spokesperson previously pondered eloping and scouted wedding venues in Capri, Italy last October. The twosome finally agreed to keep it more local in March, but the bride-to-be still hadn't made a final decision on the location as recent as last month. (The wedding has also been delayed twice due to her pregnancies.)

Other last-minute details, however, have come together flawlessly. As previously reported, Simpson has had "something unique made" for her non-white dress. It "will be very different from the Vera Wang she wore to wed Nick Lachey [in 2002]," an insider told Us. Another source added that the wedding "will be very rustic-chic."

Simpson and Johnson have been keeping busy leading up to the special occasion. On June 25, the "Irresistible" singer visited Lancer Dermatology in Beverly Hills for a possible pre-wedding prep. On July 3, Johnson and about 20 of his closest friends played a round of golf at Sandpiper Golf Course in Santa Barbara, Calif.

The big day has been four years in the making, but nobody seems to be as excited as the couple themselves. In May, Simpson gushed about her beau while celebrating their fourth anniversary together. "I am so honored to be the mother of your babies and loved by you every moment," she wrote via Instagram. "I can't wait to marry you!!!"

Before Jessica Simpson walks down the aisle, it's BBQ time!

The fashion mogul, sister Ashlee Simpson, the former Melrose Place star's fiancé Evan Ross, and other family members and friends headed to a Fourth of July barbecue bash at San Ysidro Ranch, the wedding venue, in summer chic garb, where multiple American flags were hung up outside of blue and white striped tents. According to a source, guests "seemed "excited, happy and in a rush to get there."

Inside of the venue, a small stage was set up and shrubbery was brought in from Green Set, a company based in North Hollywood.

According to an eyewitness, over 50 large potted arrangements of white flowers were sitting on the grass outside of the tents Friday morning, as well as hundreds and hundreds of flowers. There was also a shabby chic wheelbarrow filled with yellow sunflowers outside as well. Inside of the tents, there were blue Victorian themed chairs, white round ottomans and yellow roses scattered throughout.

As the pre-wedding party kicked off around 6 p.m, a band started playing Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash and funk music. According to People, the bash started with a cocktail hour with passed appetizers including lobster dogs and corn fritters and a shellfish station.

Guests were also treated to a Southern-inspired buffet packed with beef brisket, smoked BBQ baby back ribs, fried chicken, grilled shrimp, mac and cheese and potato salad.

And that wasn't all.

Dessert included pecan key lime, apple, peach and coconut cream pies, as well as creamsicles and watermelon.

As for the festivities, there was a photo booth and games for the kids to enjoy, among other things.

Sounds like a blast!
